Media Diet (1)

I love me some media. This is what I’ve been consuming lately:

🎙️ Podcast - Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend — I love Conan. He is outwardly this chaotic caricature, but I find myself increasingly listening to how he expertly guides the flow of conversation. He is so talented at keeping things fun, and getting folks that may not be media trained to be open, light, and interesting.

🎸 Music - Penelope Road — A relatively small band out of Atlanta. Saw them live as an opener for Goose, and they killed it. Looking forward to seeing them headline in March!

📹 YouTube - Paul Platt — A Charlotte local! Saw his kooky and hilarious show “Paul Platt Presents Paul Johnson Is Jurassic Park the Musical” back in 2024, and I’m glad to say he has been gaining a much deserved audience on YouTube.

📺 TV - Fallout Season 2 — I’ve been anxiously awaiting season 2! This just came out a few days ago, and I’m already hooked! I rewatched season 1 in anticipation, and I’m so excited to see how they continue the story.

📺 TV - Pluribus — I am so so so hooked on this show. I am a loyal Vince Gilligan supporter, so I gave it a shot when it first aired. The season is about to wrap up, and I have been so intrigued. I have been hearing mixed reviews, but I think if you enter knowing that this is a fabulous character study instead of a sci-fi story, you’ll be hooked too.

💻 Blog - Chris Coyier — I’ve followed Chris Coyier’s blog for a year or so. His work is a huge inspiration for me. He has a great, frequently updated blog full of varied thoughts, from technology to music to food and more. I feel like you can get a sense of his personality from his writing, and that’s what I want to embody in my writing.
